“If women all around the world take one another’s hand as sisters, their men would cease to fight and kill one another … parents would no longer mourn the loss of their sons and daughters. ”

Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon    Founder of WFWP-International

Our Purpose in New Zealand

WFWP is a dynamic organisation that is committed to providing women with the opportunity to work towards lasting peace in the world, through various projects and programmes including national and international conferences, benefits, and service projects. WFWP asserts that the family is the cornerstone for peace in the world, and that mature couples are the foundation for strong and loving families. WFWP encourages every woman to become a “woman of peace” through cultivating her heart, the mother’s heart, to care not just for her own children, but for the children of others, the children of other nations, the children of the world, by developing and expressing the qualities of empathy, forgiveness, and unconditional love.

In today’s society we enjoy a convenient lifestyle. At the same time, we are experiencing great challenges to the family, a crisis in education and the decay of morality. Above all, the family which is called to teach unconditional love to children suffers devastating damage around the globe and here in New Zealand… The families’ disintegration represents the real crisis in our world. The Women’s Federation wants to educate women in the roles that women can play in the healing our families

International and Local Conferences

International and local conferences are held for the purpose of education, friendship and cultivating a culture of heart. A feature in our conferences is what we call “The Bridge of Peace Ceremony”. The bridge is a symbol of crossing over the barriers that many of us hold in our hearts, or that generations past have held. It is also a symbol of being willing to embrace someone different so that we, ourselves, become bigger and greater by our ability to accept and love someone different than ourselves.
