WFWP-NZ report on the Women’s Circle
“Women everywhere are awakening to their power” is an idea that resonates with many woman of today. But, more so to those who are connected to and are part of the Global Sisterhood – a movement of women united to healing and transforming our world; past and present into the original peaceful world our Creator intended at the time of it’s conception. They strive to achieve this through “inner-work, gathering in Circles, healing through sisterhood, and rising into new paradigm leadership”. On Saturday 25th of July, The WFWP-NZ hosted a Women’s Circle as one of their monthly activities, in collaboration with the Global Sisterhood Circles initiative, under the facilitation of Mrs Keitha Browning. The Parnell Peace Embassy provided a warm and cozy space for the twelve women (eleven in person and one via zoom) to gather. Keitha, a certified Global Sisterhood Facilitator who had successfully completed a facilitator’s course back in 2019 facilitated the day’s session. The Circle was Keitha’s first group session. Previously, she had carried out similar meetings on one to one with a few of her friends. Today, we were fortunate to be part of it. A fair consensus would have to be that the majority of the group had little idea of what the session entailed but each had their own good reason for coming along. One woman came all the way from Dargaville, up north and another from Wellsford while yet, one joined via zoom from Napier. Keitha led with confidence, authenticity and neutrality; traits the Sisterhood Circles promote. Another is connectedness. We connected together through our life stories, personalities and our feminine attributes. “The Sisterhood or Woman’s Circles is a safe, sacred, non-judgmental space where all women are welcome to come as they are, and be in a sisterhood of women that truly support them”, explained Keitha as she took us through our first session of healing rituals which included an initial deep breathing and soft stretching exercise followed by many opportunities for sharing and self-reflection enabled through thought-provoking questions by her. Everything in the circle is confidential and all women’s stories are welcome. Such were those that was shared by the sisters whose stories related to the month’s theme of “Ancestral Healing; I heal the past, present and future”. Keitha explained that if we are able to heal the past we can receive the benefits at this present time and also for our future descendants. Each participant was handed a pen and notebook at the start of the session to jot down personal reflections as the session progressed. Continual attendance will enable the sisters to keep their reflections ongoing as they watch and feel themselves transformed through their journey together. The event was indeed a success with all praise going to our sister Keitha for her time and effort in organising and facilitating the Circle. I would also like to acknowledge our President, Mrs Felicity Cairns who couldn’t make it to the event due to health reasons. Instead, Mrs Matapa Shelley, Vice-president filled in as host.
